Thinking Space are delighted to announce their nominated charity for the year 2017, Romsey Cancer Support Centre.

After the success last year of raising over £1000 for Romsey Young Carers, Thinking Space are looking ahead to a year of physical challenges teamed with some “good fun” to raise vital funds and awareness for Jane Scarth House.

Jane Scarth House is a local charity in Romsey that provides emotional and practical support to those who are affected by cancer, whether it be the person themselves, a family member, close friend, carer or partner. Their walk-in centre, located in the centre of Romsey, provides a warm welcome and a friendly ear to those in need. Professional counselling as well as a range of therapies are available at the centre. They have assisted thousands of people and their families affected by cancer to date, all as a free service.

Jane Scarth House was founded in memory of Romsey resident and mother of two in 1995. As an independent charity who do not receive government funding, local fundraising support is vital to continue to provide essential services.

The global and successful technical furniture manufacturer from Romsey, Thinking Space are delighted to support this local charity. Managing Director Wayne Palmer, commented “We are delighted to be supporting this local cancer charity, who undoubtedly do some essential work for the Romsey community. With cancer seeming to affect so many lives, we are looking forward to making a difference to the lives of those affected by cancer”.

No sooner than the charity had been chosen, Thinking Space have completed their first fundraising event. Last Friday, they donned old tour t-shirts and sports shirts in the national “Wear your t-shirt to work day”, where the funds raised from t-shirt wearing go towards the charity.

In addition, a full calendar of events have already been planned, to support the company’s fundraising efforts. The return of the “TSS bake-off”, Romsey Relay Marathon, Walk the Test Way and Guess the Baby competition are already on the agenda.
