We provide a range of therapies including Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage. These therapies aid relaxation and can help restore the balance of the body and promote a feeling of wellbeing.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy massage makes use of the senses of touch and smell. Our therapists will use a mix of essential oils, together with carrier oil, tailored to you. The aim of the treatment is to restore the balance of the body whilst giving you time to relax.
Reflexology
Reflexology is based on the principle that different areas of the feet correspond to parts of the body. Pressure is applied to the reflex points on the feet using fingers and thumbs. It can rebalance the energy in the body and induce deep relaxation which people find extremely beneficial.
Oncology Massage
Oncology massage uses light touch massage techniques and is suitable and beneficial for clients who have had a diagnosis of cancer and who are having treatment. It is gentle and deeply relaxing to body and mind and can help relieve the effects of anxiety, muscle tension and fatigue. It can help lift mood, improve sleep and enhance well-being.
Massage can be used to support clients through their treatment and beyond and is also available to family members. Each appointment lasts about an hour.
Emotional Freedom Technique
EFT can be used to help free people from the effects of trauma, ease physical pain and emotional suffering. It is ideal for helping to remove the tendency for people to focus on their body and future in a negative way, dealing with the emotional burdens of the past and fears and anxieties for the future, promoting a feeling of peace and wellbeing.
EFT is like accupuncture but instead of using needles, we tap with our fingers on some of the well-established meridian points on the body. At the same time, we focus on specific problems both physical and emotional and then focus on how you would like to feel. This releases the stress from our body to make you feel calmer, lighter and more peaceful.
Our EFT sessions will teach you how to use the technique at home whenever it is required.
Scar Therapy Treatment
Scar therapy treatment is a gentle manual therapy that can help stimulate your scar and the underlying tissue. It focuses on reducing any issues related to a surgery or from radiotherapy such as:
Post surgery pain
Limited movement or tightness
Pulling or puckering
Fibrous scar tissue or scar adhesions
Axilary Web Syndrome (cording)
You appointment will include a special scar massage - at the right pace and pressure to suit you - plus useful advice for caring for your scar at home.
Scar therapy in the first 6 months after a surgery is helpful (even if you are not experiencing any unwanted complications) and can usually start 8 weeks post-surgery and 2 weeks post radiation therapy. It is never too late to benefit from scar treatment.
Scar therapy can also be delivered as part of a Simple Lymphatic Drainage session as scar tissue may be impeding recovery and creating congestion.
Please note that we expect our clients with lymphodema to be managed by an appropriate medical practitioner in lymphodema treatment.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage
After surgery for cancer, some people can develop Lymphoedema, which is swelling of the arm or leg caused by the removal of lymph nodes. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, relaxing massage that can help alleviate the symptoms. This is not a clinical therapy and does not replace the version offered by hospitals and specialist clinics.
Reiki
Reiki originated in Japan and its main aim is to bring about balance and to improve wellbeing. Reiki translates into "free flow of Life Energy" - energy is considered to circulate through all parts of the body.
The concept of Reiki is to balance energy within the body removing blockages and re-establishing free flow. Reiki is very relaxing and can be used for people who are not fit enough to receive massage or any other touch therapies. The patient remains fully clothed and Reiki is usually performed by lightly touching the patient on various parts of the body but it an also be performed without any physical contact if this is preferred.
Reiki is entirely safe and is in harmony with the individuals needs. It is widely accepted and can be used alongside any other treatment. There are no religious connotations with Reiki.

‘Aromatherapy was offered and helped me cope both before and after a surgical procedure.’
